FAQs
How has the staff been vetted?
Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment begins with a rigorous staff vetting process. Prospective team members undergo thorough background checks, including criminal record screenings and reference verifications. We prioritize qualifications and experience in early childhood education, seeking individuals with relevant certifications and a passion for working with children. Our hiring process includes comprehensive interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates’ suitability for providing quality care and education. Additionally, all staff members are required to undergo specialized training in childcare, CPR, and first aid, ensuring they are equipped to handle any situation that may arise. Maintaining a team of dedicated, compassionate, and qualified professionals is central to upholding our commitment to the well-being and development of the children in our care.
Do the children get time outside?
We believe that outdoor exploration and play offer a wealth of benefits for children’s development. Engaging in outdoor activities allows children to foster a deeper connection with nature, stimulating their senses and encouraging curiosity. It promotes physical health, supporting the development of motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness. Furthermore, outdoor play nurtures creativity and imagination, providing an open canvas for unstructured activities and imaginative games. It also cultivates social skills as children learn to collaborate, negotiate, and communicate effectively while engaging in group activities. Exposure to the outdoors fosters a sense of wonder, resilience, and an appreciation for the environment, laying the foundation for holistic growth and well-rounded development in children.
What is the daily schedule like?
Each classroom at our institution follows a tailored daily schedule designed to meet the unique developmental needs and learning styles of the students. Our schedules typically incorporate a balanced mix of structured activities and flexible periods to accommodate diverse interests and optimize learning opportunities. This includes dedicated time for core subjects such as language arts, math, science, and social studies, interspersed with engaging sessions for arts and crafts, physical activities, music, and free play. Additionally, we prioritize breaks for snacks, outdoor exploration, and relaxation to ensure a holistic and stimulating educational experience for every student.
What is your approach to discipline?
We believe in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where each child feels valued and respected. Our discipline policy focuses on positive reinforcement, redirection, and clear communication to guide children toward appropriate behavior. We prioritize understanding each child’s individual needs and employ gentle guidance techniques that encourage empathy and understanding. We aim to model and teach conflict resolution skills while emphasizing patience and consistency in our approach to discipline. We value open communication with parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for the children in our care.
What is the staff-to-child ratio?
Maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios is paramount in our daycare to ensure individualized attention and a safe, enriching environment for every child. We strictly adhere to regulated ratios that align with industry standards and prioritize the well-being and safety of the children in our care. This approach allows us to offer personalized interaction, supervision, and support tailored to each child’s needs. By upholding these ratios, we can foster meaningful connections, facilitate effective learning experiences, and ensure a secure and nurturing atmosphere where children thrive and receive the attention they deserve.
Is screen time permitted?
In our daycare, we have a firm policy on limiting screen time and utilizing technology solely for educational purposes. We believe in fostering a hands-on, interactive learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity. Any screen time is carefully curated, age-appropriate, and integrated into structured educational activities that support learning objectives. We prioritize real-world experiences, hands-on materials, and engaging activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional development. By restricting screen time to educational content, we aim to harness technology as a tool to enhance learning while ensuring a balanced and holistic approach to early childhood education.
Are caregivers able to provide regular updates?
In our daycare, communication with parents is streamlined and efficient through the Lillio app. This platform serves as a transparent and convenient channel for sharing updates, daily activities, and important information in real-time. Through Lillio, parents receive personalized notifications, including photos, progress reports, and schedules, allowing them to stay closely connected with their child’s experiences throughout the day. The app facilitates direct communication between caregivers and parents, enabling seamless interaction, feedback sharing, and the ability to address any concerns promptly. With Lillio, we prioritize transparency, collaboration, and continuous engagement to ensure parents are actively involved in their child’s growth and development at our daycare.

Are children required to be up-to-date on immunizations?
In our center, we uphold a strict policy regarding immunizations to prioritize the health and safety of all children in our care. We require all enrolled children to be up-to-date with their immunizations as recommended by national health authorities and guidelines. This policy aligns with our commitment to creating a secure environment that minimizes the risk of preventable diseases and protects the health of every child, staff member, and their families. We work closely with parents and healthcare providers to ensure compliance with vaccination schedules, promoting a collective responsibility for maintaining a healthy and thriving community within our center
Is there a licensed nurse on staff?
While we don’t have a nurse on-site, we maintain a highly trained team where all staff members are certified in first aid and CPR. This certification ensures that our team is well-equipped to handle any medical situations or emergencies that may arise during the daycare hours. From minor incidents to more serious situations, our staff is prepared to provide immediate assistance and care, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the children. Regular training and updates in these critical skills guarantee a quick and effective response, creating a secure and nurturing environment for the children under our care.
What protocol do you follow when a child is sick or injured?
In the event of a sick or injured child, our daycare follows a structured protocol to ensure their immediate care and safety. Trained staff members assess the situation promptly, providing necessary first aid or medical attention as needed. Parents or guardians are notified immediately, and their guidance and consent are sought before further action is taken. If a child exhibits signs of illness, they are separated from other children to prevent the spread of illness, and arrangements are made for the child to be picked up promptly to receive appropriate care at home or from a healthcare provider. In cases of more serious injury or illness, emergency services are contacted, and the child is accompanied by a staff member to the nearest medical facility. Throughout the process, clear communication with parents remains a priority to ensure transparency and the best possible care for the child.
Do you offer a refund for missed days due to illness or vacation?
We offer a two-week no payment vacation policy to support families and acknowledge the need for occasional breaks. Families enrolled in our program have the option to take a two-week vacation per calendar year without incurring fees for that period. This policy aims to provide flexibility and accommodate families’ schedules while ensuring continuity in childcare services. It allows parents to take time off without worrying about additional financial burdens, fostering a stress-free environment for both children and families. This policy aligns with our commitment to supporting families and maintaining a cooperative and understanding relationship between the daycare and our enrolled families.
After a family has used up their two-week vacation, they are to continue payments even when their child is absent to secure their spot. This practice ensures that the child’s enrollment remains active, guaranteeing their place in our program and preserving consistency in their learning and social environment. By maintaining consistent payments during absences, we can uphold our commitment to providing quality care, staffing, and resources necessary to sustain a high standard of education and support for each child. This policy also ensures that families can rely on a consistent space for their child, even during periods of absence, maintaining stability within our daycare community.
Does the staff provide potty training support?
At our daycare, our teachers initiate potty training around the age of two and a half, collaborating closely with parents to ensure a unified approach. We believe in a partnership where communication and support between home and daycare are key. Our teachers observe and respect each child’s readiness cues, working hand-in-hand with parents to establish consistent routines and techniques that align with the child’s comfort and development. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create a positive and encouraging environment that fosters successful potty training experiences for every child.
How do you handle naps?
For all classes, we have a designated nap time scheduled from 12 to 2 in the afternoon to provide a restful period for children who benefit from sleep. For those who don’t nap, we offer a range of quiet activities that cater to individual preferences and interests. These activities include book reading, quiet games, drawing, and other calming endeavors that respect the need for relaxation and downtime. By providing this balance, we ensure that all children have the opportunity for either rejuvenating rest or engaging in tranquil activities, promoting a harmonious and adaptable environment for everyone’s needs.
Does the facility have functioning cameras?
In our center, ensuring the safety and security of the children is paramount. We have installed cameras in all areas of the facility, with access restricted solely to authorized administrators. These cameras serve as a proactive measure to monitor and safeguard the well-being of the children and maintain a secure environment. This technology allows our administrative team to discreetly oversee activities and interactions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and providing an extra layer of protection. We prioritize privacy and confidentiality, strictly limiting access to these cameras to authorized personnel to uphold the trust and confidence of our families in our commitment to their children’s safety.
