Sprout

1-2 Years Old

Your toddler is on the move and becoming more active and independent as they begin exploring the world around them. With our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum at Green Tree Academy, we help inspire curiosity and imagination in a way that is unique to your toddler’s individual interests. To do this, our toddler classrooms are designed to encourage purposeful play where our teachers guide your child through age-appropriate learning experiences that prepare them with the knowledge they need to be confident as they grow.

Our toddler teachers work to foster skills like listening, counting, and following simple instructions. They also foster skills like pushing and pulling, sorting objects by color and size, and stacking objects.

FAQs

How has the staff been vetted?

Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment begins with a rigorous staff vetting process. Prospective team members undergo thorough background checks, including criminal record screenings and reference verifications. We prioritize qualifications and experience in early childhood education, seeking individuals with relevant certifications and a passion for working with children. Our hiring process includes comprehensive interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates’ suitability for providing quality care and education. Additionally, all staff members are required to undergo specialized training in childcare, CPR, and first aid, ensuring they are equipped to handle any situation that may arise. Maintaining a team of dedicated, compassionate, and qualified professionals is central to upholding our commitment to the well-being and development of the children in our care.

Do the children get time outside?

We believe that outdoor exploration and play offer a wealth of benefits for children’s development. Engaging in outdoor activities allows children to foster a deeper connection with nature, stimulating their senses and encouraging curiosity. It promotes physical health, supporting the development of motor skills, coordination, and overall fitness. Furthermore, outdoor play nurtures creativity and imagination, providing an open canvas for unstructured activities and imaginative games. It also cultivates social skills as children learn to collaborate, negotiate, and communicate effectively while engaging in group activities. Exposure to the outdoors fosters a sense of wonder, resilience, and an appreciation for the environment, laying the foundation for holistic growth and well-rounded development in children.
