Fouzia Shaikh

Director

Mrs. Fouzia Shaikh has been an integral part of Nur Islamic School of Louisville since 2009. She obtained an Associate’s degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education and holds a Kentucky Director’s Credential. In addition to her educational achievements, Mrs. Shaikh has memorized the entire Quran and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from Buffalo, New York.

Her extensive teaching experience spans various subjects and grade levels from Pre-K to eighth grade, and she has played a key role in organizing numerous school and community events. Mrs. Shaikh founded the Parent-Teacher Association at the school and successfully led several school-wide initiatives. In November 2017, she was appointed Assistant Director of the Early Childhood Center and was promoted to Director within a year. She also spearheaded the accreditation of Green Tree Academy through Cognia in 2024, making it the first Islamic-accredited preschool in Kentucky.

Currently, Mrs. Shaikh is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Learning with a focus on Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education at the University of Louisville. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
